The Illusion of a Single Ribbon
The magic of a princess band is how the diamonds sit flush against each other. There is no negative space. But this creates a unique problem. When stones are packed this tightly, light cannot easily enter from the sides. A poorly made band will end up looking flat and glassy. We solve this by selecting lab grown diamonds with exceptional top light return. In a piece like our Lyla Eternity Band, the stones are cut to pull light entirely from above, ensuring the ring stays incredibly bright even when the sides are touching.
Protecting the Hidden Edges
Sharp geometry comes with a physical reality. When square diamonds sit directly next to one another, they risk grinding together as your hand naturally moves and flexes. To prevent this, our jewelers place almost invisible metal barriers between the stones. This keeps the seamless visual illusion intact while physically stopping the diamonds from touching and chipping from the inside out.
Keeping the Profile Low
A square diamond carries a lot of weight at the bottom. If you line up a dozen of these deep stones, the ring can quickly become thick and uncomfortable between your fingers. Comfort matters just as much as how it looks. We carefully select lab grown stones with a shallower but highly refractive base. This allows us to drop the entire setting closer to your skin, so the ring feels like a natural part of your hand rather than a heavy block.
